About Dr Danie Schneider
M.B.Ch.B.(Stell.), M.Med (O&G)(Stell.), FCOG(SA)
After obtaining a general medical degree at Stellenbosch University, Dr Danie Schneider spent several years pursuing a broader medical background, including working at Frere Hospital in East London and Paarl Hospital in the Western Cape. He also worked at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Wales, where he decided to specialise in obstetrics and gynaecology.
After specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology through Stellenbosch University at Tygerberg Hospital, Danie spent two years at Cheltenham General Hospital in England, where he gained experience in the management of high-risk pregnancies and worked as a member of a multidisciplinary team at a regional cancer centre. He also gained valuable experience in the holistic management of infertility and attended numerous post-graduate training courses in the UK.
Danie, his wife, Marné, and their sons returned to South Africa in 2002. He opened a solo obstetrics and gynaecology practice in Somerset West.
After 14 years in Somerset West, he relocated his practice to Stellenbosch MediClinic in January 2017. Here he will be able to balance quality family time with his desire to treat a broad range of patients in a holistic manner.
An exciting new development is the uro-gynaecology service that will be added to the general gynaecology, infertility and obstetrics service provided.
He is passionate about the role of the general gynaecologist in the South African context and serves as a director of the national Gynaecology Management Group.
